
The Center for Empowerment and Employment Training (CEET) is a 501 ( c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to provide educational and job training services to low income and disadvantaged adults of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. CEET provides custom-tailored training in the following areas:
Family-to-Family Mentoring Program - This opportunity is available to families who are willing to spend several hours on a monthly basis (Saturdays) for up to one year, to attend program activities such as Family Night that will include opportunities to bond with assigned mentor families. These events might include educational enrichment, self-esteem enhancement, cultural enrichment activities, family and peer improvement activities in the forms of arts and crafts projects, sharing resources, attending seminars on financial management, job readiness, community resources, parenting classes, nutrition classes, domestic violence and so forth.
DC Fatherhood Initiative - Under the DCFI program, CEET provides seminars, parenting classes, case management, domestic violence referrals, resume development, financial literacy and management, GED and other services three days a week (Mondays-Wednesdays). Economic development training is designed to enhance a participant’s employability and to offer the skills necessary to maintain or increase economic stability in their lives. The target population includes teens, homeless, ex-offenders and persons with limited or no English.
